Advocating for Mount Lawley since 1969.
When community sentiment is at odds with council thinking, the Mt Lawley Ratepayers Association exists to put pressure on the Cities of Stirling, Vincent and Bayswater to ‘do the right thing’ for its Ratepayers. Individuals are rarely heard so rarely achieve beneficial change. Well-organised groups can, and do, make a big difference – there is strength in numbers and strength in focussed, professional engagement providing an active voice in the Mount Lawley Community since 1969.
Where We Make Our Voice Heard
Traffic safety
Road safety is a priority and due to increasing commuter traffic in our residential streets, we are suffering a rise in serious traffic accidents. Our roads are meant to be local roads for local traffic – not high-volume short cuts for commuters to take advantage of every day of the year, putting our community’s safety at risk. We campaign to make our community safer.
Local government
Working to make our Local Government Councils (Stirling, Vincent and Bayswater) accountable for the delivery of excellent services. When conflict arises - as it will - to offer support for resident groups to confidently address and resolve issues in a professional, assertive and amicable manner.
Planning
Representing our community’s interests in Local and State Government Planning approval processes to maintain the enjoyment of current and future ratepayers in our wonderful suburb of Mount Lawley.
